National Forests are a popular place to recreate in the winter especially at Sno-Parks and Ski Resorts in the region. Sno-Park permits are issued by Oregon and Washington state.

The Special Uses program encompasses a variety of forest uses including: recreation events, outfitter guides, filming, research studies & more. Permits must be obtained from the appropriate forest.

Forest products include berries, mushrooms, seedlings, Christmas trees, firewood & more. These products may require a permit to collect. Permits must be obtained from the forest where you wish to gather products. Christmas Tree Permits are now available online at Recreation.gov.
